How does FST™ work?

Stretches focus on lines of muscles and fascia, not just individual muscles. Stretches occur in multiple angles and lines of movement. Stretches incorporate traction and movement to more effectively increase joint space and release fascial adhesions. FST manipulates, lengthens, re-aligns, and re-organizes your fascia.

What should I expect for my first session?

Fascial Stretch therapy is a pain free, table based assisted stretching technique. Come prepared by wearing comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement and stretching.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment. Giving yourself a little bit of extra time also allows your body and mind to start to transition from an active busy mode, into a more relaxed receiving mode, thereby enhancing your massage experience.

When you arrive for your first session, you will fill out an intake form. From there, we will review what your answers were, which might include injury history, soreness, medication you might be taking, history of surgery, etc. Knowing this information will help us understand your body even more once you get on the table for treatment.

Expect hands to be on you during your session. We will communicate with you to see how you’re feeling. We will have you breathe with us through a lot of your session, and even add some active components from time to time.

After your session, We’ll have you get up and move around to see how your body is feeling. We will discuss treatment frequency and book accordingly.

How often should I get stretched?

Each body is unique. We all have different stories. We all hold stress differently.

After you get stretched for the first time, you can expect to receive a recommendation for how often you should get stretched. This could range from twice a week, to once every two to three months.

What should I wear to my sessions?

For FST sessions, you will remain clothed. Please wear loose, comfortable clothes you can move freely in. You will be inactive, we recommend long pants (sweats, tights, yoga pants), socks, and no tank tops (a t-shirt is fine). If you tend to run cold, consider wearing a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt.

What is your appointment cancellation policy?

If you cannot safely make it to your appointment due to severe weather, please call and let us know. No cancellation fee will apply for reschedules due to inclement weather if you provide at least 2 hours notice so that you can save your therapist a trip to the office or allow them to go home early.
